Epilogue:

I've got it working by using the wdx 'age' plugin. (thnx. petermad)
(and it works both on files and folders, nice)

I couldn't get it to work by only using TC's built-in features.
For that to work, you should probably be able to enter something like "less than 3 minutes before the current time" in the 'Value' field in the 'Plugins' search tab. (just after Plugin: tc / Property: accessdate / OP: =)
If somebody knows if such a command exists, that might be the easiest solution.

I also didn't succeed in using the additional 'Everything' features for it, but I must admit I gave up rather quickly on that after finding that the wdx 'age' plugin worked great.

So, mission accomplished. Thnx everybody.

A search with the plugin took me 39 seconds (access date <3 minutes).
There was no delay in Everything, i.e. the final result was immediately apparent.
There are pros and cons to using both approaches. 'Everything' wont be of any help to you on FAT drives, which is still most USB-keys.

You can use Everythings folder indexing in this case.
But it has to update the index if the USB stick is inserted.

I have fixed harddisk partitions with FAT, and never managed to get 'Everything' to index them - can you lead me in the right direction on howto?

Everything Tools / Options / Indexes / Folders
Add the root of your FAT drive and make the other settings for this entry
according to your wishes.
Try first to check

and test it.
