Hello Stefan2. Thank you you for your detailed instructions. They worked nicely.

Now I want to sort more than one directory.

Many of my files are in different directories and also on different partitions. I would like to use the TC search tool (Alt+F7) which I think can search across several directories and which creates a list of hits which I could sort ignoring the first 12 characters.

Is something like this possible?

Me think yes:

- (for other users: install the plugin, see post above at http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?p=326052#326052)
- perform the search
- click at [Feed to Listbox]
- enable the above created Custom Column with [=filesys.CutNameStart.13]
- (you may want to add another column with tc.path ?)
- enjoy TC

HTH? :D

Just found this nifty and useful plugin and it has saved me a lot of work (as TC and its plugins always does). But now I have the need to sort from a higher position than 20 and the plugin doesn't seem to allow that.

I have a long list of files named like this:
School Certificate 2014-2 Jane Doe
School Certificate 2013-2 John Doe
...
How do I accomplish sorting from position 26 where the name starts? Do I have to work with the other solutions in this thread instead?
