Progress bar shouldn't be animated when background task is paused

Post by *MauriceSnell »

It is misleading to see the animation of the green highlight moving across the progress bar when the action is paused. Please pause the animation when the task is paused, so the animation is consistent with actual progress.

I may be wrong, but I think this is not related to TC - this is standard Windows progress bar. Other programs have the same behavior, eg WinRar
It's impossible to lead us astray for we don't care even to choose the way.

Ovg is right. The animation depends on the Windows theme. If you switch to Windows Classic (on Win7) there will be no animation at all.

But, you can do something about it, at least for TC's main window (i.e. progresses in the foreground):
TC help, section 4.b) wrote:NewStyleProgress=
1: Use operating system progress bar (default for Windows >=XP)
0: Use TC's own progress bar (default for all older Windows versions)
2: Like 1, but with a not segmented bar (only supported in classic theme)
Set this to 0 and the progress bar will look like on Windows Classic theme, with no animation at all.
