Thumbnails no longer generate

Hi
i don't know why but thumbnails no longer generate.
i tried playing with the thumbnail options in the settings, like unchecking everything, rechecking, restarting TC, rebooting, uninstalling irfanview, reinstalling it, etc no way.
I think this started when i installed XNviewMP (not sure) but i removed it anyways.

please help :p

Could you maybe provide a screenshot of your Thumbnail configuration dialog ("Configuration" -> "Options..." -> "Thumbnails") ?

sorry i didnt provide one because it was pretty default at the begining but here it is now

Try to enable caching by entering a location in the field: "Database location (leave empty to disable caching)". Maybe that will help, though it should work without caching.

sorry to come back with this but i completely forgot and this still is driving me nuts :-p, thumbs work for jpg but not png, no matter the setting and no matter if irfanview or xnview is installed (while they work in explorer)

Hmm, Here if I run TC with a clean wincmd.ini file I get thumbnails for at least .jpg, .png, .bmp, .gif, .tif and .wdp.

So try and start TC with a clean ini file (start parameter /i=path\test.ini). If thumbnails works for you here, use the same setup for thumbnails in your every day TC setting.
