The key is a file named WINCMD.KEY and you can find it at your old program directory.
Just copy it to the new program directory and restart TC.

I was emailed a key and even received an install CD with the key included. That was several years ago though. Certainly you were given the same options.

As sqa_wizard writes - the registration key is in a file called WINCMD.KEY an that file has to be in the same directory as your totalcmd.exe or totalcmd64.exe file. The WINCMD.KEY file can actually be inside a Tcmdkey.zip file with zero compression, also located in the same directory.

The key file is not installed automatically - you have to manually copy it to the program directory of Total Commander (not called Wincmdr btw).

If you cannot find your WINCMD.KEY file in you backups, you can email the author and as for a new one.

Hi,
I received a license key for total commander from my company.
How do I activate the license?

With all due respect that is not the only question the OP was asking. The key doesn't come in the download, it has to be bought. The OP left the question wide open to the notion there was no key to be placed in the TC Folder. I was only adding to the thread as to where the origins of my key and where I can find my original. I think I answered that question. As for where to place the key, that question had already been answered.

Henrik,me guess you have to ask your company for that.

TC have no use for such number, maybe you should provide more details if you are able.

There are no 7 digit Total Commander keys. The license number is 1-6 digits, and the key code to re-download your key is 30 characters with letters and digits mixed.
