Ctrl + \

Ctrl+\ goes to root directory.
I have a very filled root directory, and it would be nice if Ctrl+\ not only went to root directory, but if you are already in root directory, it forced selection of first item in list.

And what would that be good for?
You can select the first item with Ins.

Not the first item - the first file is meant I guess. With a lot of directorys it could take a lot of [cursor down] to reach the first file.

I think a function like that could be very useful - not only in root. But I'm not quite sure if I like the shortcut.

:) Hello Stefan !
¤ To reach the first file (whether it's that Genghis86 needs…), remember that Ch. Ghisler has promised a new command recently…
* Being optimistic, I drawn an icon already :P

Hey this, indeed, isn't a bad idea

I too would like to see somethin' as nice as "go to first file". But the key could be somethin' like Ctrl+Home by default, maybe... (is more intuitive IMHO)

Adding to "my-personal-whish-this-definitely-wish-list" :)
Don't Panic! We have Total Commander...
