Icons in button bar

Post by *dragonworks »

I am trying to set TC on a coworkers computer. When opened there was no button bar. I was able to install a button bar using default.bar, but there were no icons in it. Then I was able to see icons using WCMICONS.DLL, but I have so far been unable to load any icons into the bar by using the add function. What is the secret?
Thank You

Sounds like a permissions issue to me. The only time I have ever had issues like this was when there was an issue with Windows permissions.

Not to question your expertise but I don't believe that is the problem, but, I will look into it. I don't get any alarms or pop up boxes. I am more inclined to believe it is operator error and I am not using the proper sequence or something of that nature. I was actually able to get one icon in the bar but that was it, I couldn't populate it with any more.

There is not really a secret:

- right click a button
- "Change..."
- in the Icon box enter a relative or absolute path to an icon resource ***
- in the box below chose the wanted icon
- [OK] the button dialog

***
wciconex.dll
%COMMANDER_PATH%\wciconex.dll
"D:\rive\path to\totalcmd\wciconex.dll"
%Commander_Path%\WCMICONS.DLL
%Commander_Path%\WCMICON2.DLL
C:\Windows\System32\imageres.dll
C:\Windows\system32\explorer.exe
C:\windows\System32\WScript.exe
powershell.exe
cmd.exe
TOOLs\AHK\AutoHotkey.exe

HTH?

I removed TC and downloaded again and the problem is fixed. It may not be a secret but to those who don't go behind the dashboard often it can be a bit daunting.

Well I certainly get that all the time myself. I'm glad you found a solution to your issue.
