A little bug in search

Post by *sblar »

If I make a search for a specific file(s), I enjoy the feature to save the search result in a listbox (Copy to listbox). This very nice feature does not work if I search for a specific text inside a .ZIP file. In that case the "Copy to listbox" button is grey.

That is true.

As written in help, "This can only work when archives aren't searched.".

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

You can still copy the names from the result box with Ctrl+C.

Funny, I almost started a new topic on this...

Didn't some earlier versions of WinCommander support this? I relied on this to easily manage mutipart files where the creator wrapped a rar file in a zip. I would search for a common string from the filename in the folder containing all the zip files. I would then feed the result to the listbox and copy those files to a temporary directory for processing.

Am I crazy? Christian, could you please restore this function?

Thanks!

I've got TC running white on black and have set an inverted cursor.

When I do a Ctrl-Alt-letter search I don't seem to get the black on white cursor display -- just thin lines around the "found" files. If I hit the ESC key on a found file, then I do get the black on white cursor.

Just think it would be easier to "spot" files if the black on white cursor would appear in this mode.

Christian once said it is done this way to show that the focus is on the quicksearch field.
I'd like it changed, too, BTW.
