I try to zip a bunch of files encrypted (of course I've the cryptozip.dll).
I tick the encrypt - checkbox and get the Dialogbox for the password and reentering password. But if I try to open the encrypted zip, TC opens it without asking for the password ( If I restart TC it's the same). When I pack the encrypted file again with password I can still open the outer Zip without password but for the inner one I have to type the second password:
file1 \
> Crypt.zip Password: one
file2 /
crypt.zip>CryptCrypt.zip Password: two
I can ope CryptCrypt.zip with no password.
If I try to open crypt.zip I have to type "two"
Could someone explain the behavior?

- When I ask for unpack these same files, TC asks for the password once at home (under Win 98 SE)

It's normal that you can open those TC "encrypted" zips and view the content. The password has to be entered only when extracting content.
So, you have to enter the second password when you open the inner zip and you have to enter the first password when you want to open a file in the first zip.
Anyway, I have no clue what this funny pw protection has to do with "encryption", it's anything but that.
If you want a "real" encryption you should use AES-Plugin or the great AxCrypt.

Thanks, but I do not need real encrytion. Was just curious about this funny behavior. PGP is fine, as long as you use some of the better algorithms, (AES, IDEA, Blowfish with a larger keysize...).BTW what do you think about PGP for encrytion?

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
