Write error: pop up on sync 7z-encrypt files

Post by *g200 »

I am using sync dir tool and it is very helpful. Recently , I decided to encrypt the files on the PC with 7z packer and password.
Now , every time I try to sync the flash drive with PC, asking for password, start copying , and after a while pop ups "Write error", and cannot sync directories.

Please advise.

Does this "Write error!" happen if you're doing the same copy operation not from Sync Tool, but from Total Commander main window?

Is the file-system on the flash drive clean (chkdsk)? Does the drive have enough free space available?

Yes, I got the same error copying a file from usb drive to PC in the encrypted 7z- file.

Both drives work perfectly, no errors. Hm, the PC drive had less space than the size of the archived file.
I tried to copy (not sync) a file 12kB and it took 3 minutes - time to repack the whole 7z-file. It is not a good idea to update such big files :D .

It will be good , if the developers replace the message "Write error!" with "Not enough space" , to save us the frustration.
Thank you !
