Tag a file: I would like to be able to tag or mark files
I would like to be able to tag or mark files (preferably with a keyboard shortcut) so that I can use that tag to find those files later.
I was thinking of using the tags and features the windows file system offers, but have not yet found a way or how to easily add or alter them in total commander.
Any suggestions on how this can be done?

Thanks, but I was hoping Total Commander could somehow do this on its own.
Or that there was a bash or powershell command that I could use at least and bind it to a shortcut somehow.

TwinKey can bookmark files but has no Tag feature.

Re: Tag a file: I would like to be able to tag or mark files
The problem is that your desired actions don't succeed each other. In the meantime you can make changes so that an other set of files meets your first requirement and your second action later on makes a mess of your file system. E.g. what should happen when a file does not exists any more. When TC aborts your action the chaos is complete.

Re: Tag a file: I would like to be able to tag or mark files
Thank you for the answers.
I tested comments and if I add a comment and then rename the file the comment index is not updated. If I duplicate a file the comment is not duplicated either.
I think I will add tags into the filename inside square brackets and search based on these.
My main point was to mark files for later removal and based on the test I did comments would not help me keep track of them.

I guess you have not set "Copy comments with files" under Operationskyhirider wrote: ↑2019-12-28, 11:42 UTC Thank you for the answers.
