No new search results when in Search Results tab.

Post by *NotNull »

The title might be a bit confusing, so here are the steps to reproduce:

In a tab:
  • Go to Menu:Commands > Search (or Alt-F7)
  • Enter some search query (tested with: ev: ext:exe c:\program )
  • Press Start Search (or Alt-s)
  • Press the Feed to Listbox button (or Alt-L)
Results are shown in the Search Results: tab
So far, so good ..
  • Go to Menu:Commands > Search (or Alt-F7)
  • Enter a different search query (tested with: ev: ext:ini c:\program )
  • Press Start Search (or Alt-s)
The Search Results box show the results of the previous search

When doing this new search in a "fresh" tab, results are as expected (ie: shows INI files instead of EXE files)

I am just mentioning this. I don't use Total Commander often enough for this to be fixed (if it is broken; not sure)

Who changed the subject of this thread without any notification?
That is bad moderation practice. I changed it back.
Please reveal yourself and explain why.

Besides: Not very useful to change it from:
No new search results when in Search Results tab.
to:
Just FYI: No new search results when in Search Results tab.

Stefan2, no idea why.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Strange - please return to a regular folder before starting the new search.

Thanks, Hacker!
That would also explain why the report I filed on this got straightaway rejected by him.

In the meantime: still no explanation ... (and I really would like to know why)

I adjusted the subject line to reflect the content of your post:

I am just mentioning this. I don't use Total Commander often enough for this to be fixed (if it is broken; not sure)
So I saw there no question, no bug report, no suggestion or like that, just an statement; That's why "Just FYI:".
Maybe "For discussion:" would had fit better.

So, if someone else would mention in this thread that he/she *does* want this to be solved, you would change back the original title?
Seems like over-moderating to me.
Besides: the more objective "FYI:" would have sufficed.

But this is all a matter of style /personal preference and more important: not the question!

The original question was why my post was moderated without any notification.
Is this common practice on this forum?
