how can i disable the "smooth" scrolling when selected item reaches top or bottom ?

Post by *jcelle »

Hello,
Suddenly I am noticing that when I move the cursor up or down in a list of files '"All file details" mode) I can't pass beyond the 4 top or bottom files (lines). When I reach one of this edge the list scrolls instead !!
In a way it puts the expected file under my cursor but this really confuses me and I would rather have the list of files scroll only when the cursor is on the very first line or very last.
I tried to find an option but was unsuccessful.
Does anyone know if this can be configured ?
Many thanks for your time.

jcelle,
It's under Configuration - Options - Operation.

Look in the help file for the following:

Extra lines below cursor:
When scrolling with the keyboard (cursor keys, page up/down), show extra lines below (and also above) the current location, so the next files can already be seen before getting there. Defaults to 4 lines. Can be configured separately for above and below via wincmd.ini:

so set under
[Configuration]
ScrollingTopMargin=0
ScrollingBottomMargin=0
Windows 11 Home, Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.4351)

It's under Configuration - Options - Operation.
To be more precise - unselect the option: "Extra lines below cursor"
