In the past, all updates could be used without any additional costs over many years.
But as life goes on, that could be changed at some time in the future perhaps. (there can be found
such answers from the author at the forum. It's just about maybe changed laws, patents and general life circumstances and such)

I have to ask again about the same, because last answer was many years ago...

Yes it is! The only exception would be if we were forced from the outside to no longer offer free updates, e.g. if we had to pay a patent licence for each copy for a function in a newer version (even for free updates).

I'm more than willing to pay for updates if it comes to that. can't believe I paid for my license almost 9 years go, haven't paid a single cent after that.

dang, I used to pirate TC. first thing I did when I got a decent paying job was purchase a license.
