Total Commander cannot delete files completely
Total Commander 3.20, Android 10.
When I delete (or move) any file with TC, the file disappears, but many other applications (some audio players, browsers, Telegram, some file managers) continue to see it as a corrupted file with zero size or something like that, and I have to use a special application to remove such files completely.
After deleting files by other applications, this problem does not occur, only with Total Commander.
And I seem the same problem was on my old phone with older versions of android and TC.

I do not have this problem. It sounds like the file is still in the media database which some players use instead of the file system. But TC does tell Android to remove the file from the media database.

Re: Total Commander cannot delete files completely
Yes, this only happens with media files like music and pictures. After deletion, they remain listed in various media lists. The trouble is that this does not happen with other applications, only with TC. It looks like something on my phone doesn't want to cooperate with him. This filling of lists with garbage is unpleasant.

Can you give me a list of apps where it doesn't happen? I can try to decompile them and check what they are doing differently. I'm not aware of any bugs in TC which would cause this, and it works fine here.

files are normally deleted by the standard built-in explorer, X-plore 4.25, browser Opera-mini (by file sharing tool), PoMelo File Explorer.

Re: Total Commander cannot delete files completely
The standard Explorer uses virtual folders instead of going to the file system. You can do this in TC too:
"Add custom location", then pick the base folder of the internal memory.

It works! Thank!ghisler(Author) wrote: ↑2021-02-19, 10:22 UTC "Add custom location", then pick the base folder of the internal memory.
I created an entrance to the internal memory through the "user-defined location" and now when using this icon to enter the drive, I can normally delete files.

After some more tests, I think I found the reason why this is happening. Could you please with Total Commander 3.21 beta 2 whether it still happens?
You can get the beta from our homepage or from the play store, as described here:
https://www.ghisler.com/android.htm#download
in section "3.21 beta 2".
Btw, if you have some remaining fake files in Gallery, just restart your device and Android will rescan the files.
