Add "Update Comments" command

Post by *fenix_productions »

Hi

Would it be possible to add "Update/Refresh Comments" command to TC?

This command could check folder content and remove entries from descript.ion file for non-existing files/folders.
It would be useful if someone is using Windows delete method.

Hi,

until then, you can use this AHK-Skript from Hacker and
check how your Total Commander comments (Ctrl+Z) are doing.

I am not sure now whether I would then continue to stick with the AHK script...

Hi, I'm also great user of comments to folders (or files). Thank you for such functionality. But I quite often later after setting new commnet -let say- 'change my mind' and rename given folder/file causing corresponding descritpt.ion file contain old folder/file name hence stop showig my comment in 'mouse-yellow-bubble'. :-( I understand that if such rename is caused by some other program in OS, than it does not make much sense to update comments in descript.ion file, but I would like to kindly ask you to consider update needed information (folder/file name) inside descript.ion file when the rename operation is originated/invoked in/from Total Commander itslef. What do you think? Would it be difficult or not? I think & hope it'll be quite easy&simple. Best regards, Pavel G.

There is NO option "Delete comments without files" (when files are missing).
