Taskbar Icon is wrong

Post by *enduser »

Total Commander (x64) 10.0
Windows 10

I was attempting to make everything 1.5a work with TCMD, and I enabled MinimizeOnClose=1 TrayIcon=1 in the .ini file but now my taskbar icon is not the same it used to be. Restarting my machine didn't help.

Taskbar Icon:

Icon in Program Files:

TOTALCMD64.EXE Properties

Any help to resolve this without reinstallation would we appreciated, Thanks!

Update:
Reinstalling the application didnt help aswell, I also tried to rebuild the IconCache.db that didnt work either.
So theres nothing else I can do, my only hope now is that someone else had this issue and can help me resolve this.

Update(Solved):
At first I thought I messed up my TOTALCMD64.EXE somehow, but after searching around I was finally able to resolve the issue.

Steps for anyone having this same issue (not just from TotalCommander):
1. Go to %LocalAppData%
2. Delete "IconCache.db"
3. Create a new file "IconCache.db"(using notepad with correct extension and all files enabled), then right click -> properties and make it Read-Only(important).
4. End task "explorer.exe" through task manager, then File -> Run new task and type "explorer.exe" and press enter.
now if you look at the file properties you should (hopefully) see the correct icon.
5. Make sure to uncheck Read-Only option for the "IconCache.db" file.
6. Done! :)
