Command remotely?

Post by *pettergulbra »

Hi
I wonder if TC could be used as a remote file client. Like the one of a Qnap NAS.
I'll try to explain:
I use my Win machine as a headless file server, and I only move files within the machine. Or from an FTP that is added as a share.

Is it possible to have TC always running on the server, and log in with TC on an Android phone (or any other platform) and control the TC on the computer. So if I start a big file transfer, and I log out/close the app on the phone, TC on the server will just be running and perform the task?

This would be like Qfile on Qnap nases so to speak.

TeamViewer is what I use now, and is not good on phones and the file manager stuff... Nope..

Kindly, Petter

The closest to a remote client would be using the SFTP plugin: It can copy files remotely between directories without sending the data via the client. Just open the same connection in both panels (e.g. via Ctrl+Arrow left/right after connecting) and then use F5 to copy. However, this will still stop when you disconnect.
