[10.51]Descript.ion might need an update

Post by *browny »

1. tckeyhandler*.dll files are not in the install.cab (I did not check all other files from the list in all installer variants).
2. Alphabetically sorted lines are more convenient. The list in descript.ion was created as sorted, but the latest additions got simply appended.

history.txt:

Code: Select all

18.03.20 Release Total Commander 9.51 release candidate 6 (RC6)
[...]
16.03.20 Fixed: Lister, Explorer preview: Use WH_KEYBOARD_LL hook instead of WH_KEYBOARD, so tckeyhandler.dll/tckeyhandler64.dll is no longer needed (32/64)

tckeyhandler*.dll may be there as leftovers from older versions, so I keep the description in the descript.ion file.

Wouldn't that suggest that the file is still being used? Perhaps you can add "Obsolete" or "No longer used".

According to history.txt, tckeyhandler*.dll were needed in TC 9.51 RC3..RC5 only, and never made it to the real release.

BUMP to add "Obsolete" or "No longer used" to descript.ion for the tckeyhandler*.dlls.

Also why is it "tcmdlzma.dll library to unpack winzip12 lzma compression method (14)" in descript.ion
and not just "tcmdlzma.dll library to unpack winzip12 lzma compression method"?

But only for the 64Bit Version

Code: Select all

tckeyhandler.dll Handle ESC and TAB keys in Explorer preview in Lister (32-bit)
tckeyhandler64.dll (Obsolete) Handle ESC and TAB keys in Explorer preview in Lister (64-bit)
Which could make people believe its still needed for 32bit and wonder where the file is.
