More help buttons in dialogs.

Post by *petermad »

In many dialogs you can get Help by pressing F1, but many questions here in the forum indicates that F1 is not known to many users.

In many dilaogs there already is a [Help] button - but it is not consistant.

I would like to see a [Help] button in these dialogs:

Choose Command (cm_CommandBrowser)
Internal Associations (cm_InternalAssociate) - Associate (cm_Associate) already has a [Help] button.
Compare contents (cm_CompareFilesByContent)
Print Directory (cm_PrintDir) - default size need to be enlarged to make space for a [Help] button.
Multi Rename (cm_MultiRenameFiles) - i has a tiny [?] button, but a [Help] button in the bottom of the dialog would be better and easier to find.
Split (cm_Split)
Combine (cm_Combine)
Decode (cm_Decode) - Encode (cm_Encode) already has a [Help] button
Create CRC-checksum file (cm_CRCcreate)
Check CRC-checksum (cm_CRCcheck)
Make directory (cm_MkDir)
Set volume label (cm_VolumeId)
Synchronize directories (cm_FileSync) - default size need to be anlarged to make space for a [Help] button.
Copy / Move files (cm_Copy) - size need to be anlarged to make space for a [Help] button.
Copy same panel (cm_CopySamepanel)
Create shortcut (cm_CreateShortcut)

These dialogs dont have an (F1) help, but could need it and a [Help] button:
Expand selection (em_SpreadSelection)
Shrink selection(cm_ShrinkSelection)
Show file space (cm_GetFileSpace)

I support adding a button if there is free space for it in the current dialogs.
It's also possible to consider the indication "(F1 — help)" on the right side of the title.
And this is definitely worth doing:

I would like to see a [Help] button in these dialogs:

Or, as seen with other programs , at least an [?]-button

Support++ More Help access would make the program more approachable for newer users.
