[TC 11.00 b4] Left arrow key not translated in string 2117

Post by *yong »

If I set TC to one of the East Asian languages (Chinese, Korean, etc), the word for the left key is always
the English word "Left".

TC seems to rely on the translation internally returned by Windows, unfortunately Windows returns the
English word when TC is set to East Asian languages.

See: viewtopic.php?p=432405#p432405

In difres700.zip, in the file new700_second.txt back in 2006 you wrote:
// Configuration - options - Misc: translated hotkeys (will only be shown if different, in the form: Translated (original)
// Please ONLY translate these if they are translated on your national keyboard!
// For example, the "Home" key is labeled "Pos1" on the German keyboard.
1644="INS|DEL|HOME|END|PGUP|PGDN|SPACE|BACK|TAB|+|-|*|/|ENTER|ESC|LEFT|RIGHT|UP|DOWN"
So I gues most translators, including myself, have not translated this string, but now we are forced to.

I still think it is better with two strings as proposed here: viewtopic.php?p=432444#p432444

I don't know what is worse, that you have to instruct all translators of chnaging string 1644 or instructing them to use the same &-hotkey in two separate strings... I think the latter will give the fewest problems.

Confirmed fixed in TC 11.00b5 with the new string:
2130="Ctrl+Left|Ctrl+Right"
