Try:
/T="%B.7z"E="7z"G

Use it in the Parameters field, not the command field.

But I think we can call it a BUG that using /T"." or /T="" does not pack in the stated format. Using /E="7z"G correctly packs as 7z.

Confirmed, but only the extension is wrong, the file is actually a 7-zip file! I will fix it.

the file is actually a 7-zip file
That is NOT what I experience here - I do not get the same file content if I use /T="%B.7z"E="7z"G in contrary to /T="."E="7z"G.

Unfortunately, when I press Alt+Enter on files inside the archive the info about the method just shows the file extension.

Also if I use /T="%B.7z"E="7z"G i get the same .7z file as when I use Alt+F5 an choose plugin with 7z extension (Total7zip).

If I use /T="."E="7z"G I get a ,zip file that is smaller than the file I get if I use Alt+F5 and choose ZIP.

If I use: /T="."E="rar"G - I get a ,zip file that is bigger in size that when I use Alt+F5 and choose RAR as packer.

If I use: /T="."E="arj"G - I get a .zip file with the same size (but not entirely the same content) as when I use Alt+F5 and choose ARJ as packer - but I cannot enter the zip file, unless I change the extension to .arj.

So it seems that the Rar (WinRar) and 7zip packers changes the method when the extension of the output file, in TC's archive name field, is changed to .zip

history.txt wrote:07.07.23 Fixed: cm_PackFiles /T="." /E="7z" would create 7-zip archive (with 7zip plugin, zip archive with total7zip), but with .zip extension instead of .7z (32/64)
Confirmed fixed in TC 11.00rc1 - not only for E="7z" but also for E="rar" etc. :-)
