If I try to download via www. upload. ee/files/15709683/ICOs.zip.html I get different kinds of program installers (that tests positive for malware), but no icos.zip file. Tried with another browser and clicking the green "Download" button on that page crashed the browser.

You should use an ad-blocker on such sites - or maybe even in general.

I tried with a third browser and managed to download the ICOs.zip file - I have put a copy here, for others that have problems downloading the one in AntonyD link - https://tcmd.madsenworld.dk/ICO_s.zip

Here is what it looks like in my TC:

For me, it looks the same as for white and petermad.
The move doesn't change how the ions look.
What should be the problem ?

TC 11.02 x64 / x86

It's really strange that you do not use `ublock origin`...
The adblockers imho the first tools which MUST be installed for any browsers)))
As for me this one site after applying ADblock filters looks veeery simply and cleanly)))
and there are no more any #strange# different kinds of program installers....

As to the problem, looks like I have a my own non-stop'ing glitch in that way:
https://ibb.co/G5zSxBj
as you see TC shows for me first two IDENTICAL files with two different ICOs.
IF i will move them on the adjacent file panel I will start see the proper ICOs:
https://ibb.co/N6V1Dkq

As soon as I will return back those 2 files next to the left third - I will see
again the glitech'ed ICOs...

Ublock origin is not the only available tool and definitely not a must have.
I use ADGuard on all browsers, and it works better than uBlock Origin for me.

Is there any chance that the appicon1.ico that you show here https://ibb.co/G5zSxBj has been overwritten with appicon2.ico.

There is an old unresolved problem with caching of icons, that keeps showing the same icon, when it is overwritten with another icon - see: viewtopic.php?p=365037#p365037

Is there any chance
NO.
There is an old unresolved problem with caching of icons
And as usual "something" special has been done for Explorer? because it shows absolutely w/o any glitches these icons...

P.S. thumbs are showing inside TC also properly... Hmmmm.
Maybe the roots of the problems are inside the size of the icons shown?
small sizes - have problem, big - have not...

As we see these files in fact are the containers for a list of icons. Each files contain 7 sizes of icon.
And maybe Total is a little “confused” in its caches of icons for these files,
or incorrectly retrieves them... We don’t know exactly how it’s implemented in the code
the selection and drawing of these icons for similar "container" files with icons....

I don't think so, then white, Horst.Epp and myself should be able to reproduce the problem, and we don't.

TC has 5 options for icon size in the file panels: 16x16, 24x24, 32x32, 48x48 and 64x64. All of your 3 icons contains those sizes, so TC should not have any problems using the right one.

Could you humor me and do your test described in the first post, but in completely new directories on both sides, where you use the icons from your ICOs.zip file in the left panel at first.

I think that it is a cache problem. What about if you test with your original test folders, and then close and restart TC, are the moved icons still shown incorrectly?
