TC GZ archiver implementation issue?

Post by *TychoBarfy »

Hi, inspired by this post (viewtopic.php?p=438585#p438585) I created a user command for packing files using cm_packfiles adding a leading date/time string to the name of the archive.
This works fine with ZIP and all in Packers section of wuncmd.ini defind archivers, except with implemented GZ.

Code: Select all

[em_packfiles_YMD_hm_name_t]
cmd=cm_packfiles
param=/T="%T%|$DATE:Y_M_D_hm|_%B.zip"
menu=Pack Selection to Target with Leading Date Y_M_D_hm (Internal Packers)
1. I mark two subfolders to pack in in a folder named TC with target "F:\gz_test\" in the other panel.
2. I call command above and get ZIP radio box check an "zip:F:\gz_test\2023_11_03_0125_TC.zip"
3. Choosing another archiver like RAR I get "F:\gz_test\2023_11_03_0125_TC.RAR" in the target field.
4. Now checking GZ, contents of the field ls as follows:

Code: Select all

First of all - to be precise, gzip is not even an archiver, it's just compressor which allows only single file to be packed.
Not multiple files, not directories.

If i try your button i get just *.*.gz in command field, and files are packed individually if i select multiple files, but get error "Too many files" if i choose directories.

So this (湩≩਍敭畮吽⁃業⁴牦獩档...) is a Chinese error message, warning or hint?
Could someone translate this string? If I paste it into Google translator, it fails. :lol:

Confirmed, it happens because the extension of the file you want to pack wasn't passed to the dialog. It should create a name like this:
2023_11_03_0913_foldername.txt.gz
I will fix it.

This should be fixed in RC6, please test it!
03.11.23 Fixed: When packing with cm_PackFiles with parameters, the extension of the file to be packed wasn't remembered, so packing to .ext.gz didn't work (32/64)
