Directory info 'real path' for junction or symbolic link ?

Post by *ajron »

Hi, if we use F3 on the directory name we can see simple info like a path, size, number of files and directories. It would be nice to see the real path if the directory is a junction or a symbolic link.

The real path of a link is shown when you hover over the dir name in the file list.
You can also use a plugin like NTLinks and make a custom column view showing the targets.

If you happen to have it configured like that.

I know that. There are even more ways to get the real path but I think the directory info in the lister is the right place to have such base information.

Of course :)
I like to give some hint but let the user do its part to read the help or look in the settings.

Yes, for example, my old script that jump to the symlink or shortcut path with the option to select a panel and create a tab, i.e. without the need for unnecessary manipulations with quick view, line selection, copying and going through the edit path in the panel header.
Overquoting is evil! 👎
