Wrong active window woes!

Post by *Dazzer »

Hi folks,

Ever did an action (like press a button to go to a certain folder), only to realize you had the wrong left / right window active?

I had this a million times!

So two questions: is there a hotkey to undo that last action so that your window locations goes back to how it was?

And is there a way to accentuate the active window? Like by making the active (or in-active) have a different background color?

I know that by default the active window has a darker grey (or more blue?) bar at the top, but this is quite subtle and i'd like it to be more obvious!

Thanks!

Yes its possible to change the color of the Line where the Path is written above the file panel for each file panel.
Mine looks like this (Dark green is the active side):

Please read the HELPFILE and/or use the SEARCH FUNCTION to learn how to do it.

I tried it but totally messed up the colors, needed to trash the wincmd.ini file, anyone can tell me exactly how to do it?

EDIT, i worked it out!

configuration > options> color > others > Title bar for file panels > active side:background

Press Alt+ArrowLeft - that will take you back to the folder you were in (in the active panel)

Ah-ha, excellent, so if you make the blunder, that takes you straight back!

That's pretty much all i needed!

Thanks to fellow Total Commander users, you've got a requested hotkey.
I also always keep two buttons on my main toolbar for that (useful when you're operating the mouse at the time):

Code: Select all

TOTALCMD#BAR#DATA
cm_GotoPreviousDir

wcmicons.dll,18

0
570

Code: Select all

TOTALCMD#BAR#DATA
cm_GotoNextDir

wcmicons.dll,19

0
571
IIRC, those buttons are included in the default button bar, though.
