is there a safe tool to exclude tc in the windows defender antivirus?

Post by *giulia »

Hi

is there a safe tool to exclude total commander in windows defender antivirus ?
i was running under w11 pro ,with windows defender antivirus On and it's amazing slow , even to turn off windows defender it's not easy
i have tried to use the registry and windows settings , windows defender antivirus was very fast with an high score some time ago ,now it's very slow with many false allarms

sometime i think to uninstall it and install a free antivirus with some advance options ,like kaspersky

well i would appreciate it a lot
thanks

you can try this one:
Defender Exclusion Tool

No comments, lol.

Use Add-MpPreference (PowerShell) to natively/safely make the exclusions without any third-party apps.

might you please just make an example ?
for example if I want to exlude ..
foders
X:\msbX\*.*
and total commander
X:\totalcommander\TOTALCMD64.EXE

Code: Select all

TOTALCMD#BAR#DATA
%COMMANDER_PATH%\Utils\nircmd.exe elevate powershell.exe
-Command "Add-MpPreference -ExclusionPath '%Q%P%N'"
imageres.dll,101
add item under cursor to exclusions
