How retain original file datestamp when moving to different drive on Windows 11 PC

Post by *unionmaid »

When I use TC to move files from one directory or drive to another, the file dates in the new location are changed to the date of the move.

Is there a way I can keep the original file date during the move operation?

I am using Windows 11 and TC 11.03

TIA

Total Commander already tries to copy the timestamps with the files. Unfortunately some programs will prevent Total Commander from doing that: For example, some virus scanners lock a file after it was copied, so Total Commander cannot set the timestamp of the copied file to that of the original.
