Hi!
Not sure if this is actually already possible, just me not having found the hotkey / function, or if it's out of reach at the moment. Anyways, this is a scenario that occurs to me often. I'm browsing \DIR\SUBDIR\SUBDIR in a device, and would suddenly like to go to the top (\) of it. Simply clicking the drive letter in the top list just leaves me where I am, it's like this functions as (if we're talking CMD.EXE) just typing in "driveletter:", instead of typing "CD /d driveletter:\", which would give desired effect. My current workaround is to simply hold down CTRL while clicking, hence opening a new tab with the root. This is actually not much of a PITA at all, but I'm just asking if there is some function or hotkey that I don't know about that makes clicking the device letter not only switch to it but also CD to it's root? I've tried holding down SHIFT, Alt, AltGr while clicking, to no avail.
Cheers!
Go to drive root by e.g. clicking drive letter?

Use this parameter in the [Configuration] section of your wincmd.ini file:
You can also set this option via: "Configuration" -> "Operation" -> "Main program" -> "Always go to the root of a drive when changing drives"

Code: Select all
AlwaysToRoot=1
Help wrote:AlwaysToRoot=0 If set to 1, Total Commander will always switch to the root directory when changing drives (like the Win95/98 Explorer).
