Beta testing appriciated, fast reply guaranteed. But your email seems to be wrong "User unknown in virtual mailbox table (in reply to RCPT TO command)".

I have tested accessing Android/data subfolders using TCA 3.6 beta 5 using Shizuku 13.5.4 (the version available on Google Play) and Google Play system update of September 1, 2025, on 2 phones:
  1. Samsung S23 Ultra, Android 14, OneUI 6.1. I have disabled OS updates on this phone, latest OS update is from April 2024. Accessing subfolders of Android/data using Shizuku works.
  2. Samsung A05s, Android 15, OneUI 7 - with the latest OS update. Accessing subfolders of Android/data using Shizuku works.
I have not tested using "settings.txt" yet on neither device.

I have another phone I can test on, Oppo A74 with Android 13, but I do not access Android/data on it and I suspect it works.

I would like to beta test TCA, but unfortunately I have no other phones available (apart from an old HTC Desire Z, rooted, with Android 4.2).

I'm on a Samsung S22 Ultra, Android 15, OneUI 7.0. I can access /data and subfolders with Shizuku but I can't copy any files in it to other directories. Am I just screwed now? :(

Copying will work when you set the target directory in the other panel first, by clicking on the button with the 3 arrows to switch between panels.

FYI: My Samsung Galaxy A54 just got upgraded to Android 16 (One UI 8.0) and I no longer have access to /storage/emulated/0/Android/data (I don't use Shizuku - only settings.txt).

I was, but apparently it's only the one directory that's giving me issues because I was able to copy from another one. Is this file reading error that I'm getting a permissions issue?

Could be, difficult to say. Can you get the file from a PC or Mac with adb? Try
adb pull /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/your.app.name/file.txt c:\test\file.txt
where c:\test needs to exist.
