new release: https://github.com/jumpifequal/mdview-for-Total-Commander

v3.1 (internal)

add: Respect Total Commander interaction patterns where applicable. Keys 1..9, N, and P must work according to the concept adopted in Total Commander. F3 and F7 behave like CTRL-F
fix: no temporary html files are created now, all is in memory
add: support for mixed html, md files with html tags
add: scale is now visible
fix: modal dialog for low-res screen is not entirely visible
fix: scrolling is jerky and cannot be controlled line-by-line, also in split view
fix: TOC is useful but link positioning is incorrect.
fix: Line Numbers is toggleable, but the UI/state handling is wrong.
fix: Split Source View is useful in theory but currently not synchronized.
fix: The searchable input field does not properly support paste from clipboard.
add: Rendering scale can be changed, which is useful.
v3.2

fix: relative Markdown links now resolve against the current document path, including ./, ../, nested paths, images, and file fragments
fix: clicking a local Markdown link no longer blanks the embedded browser; linked Markdown files now open inside MDView and non-Markdown links are opened by Windows
fix: YAML front matter at the top of SKILL-style documents now renders as a highlighted YAML block instead of flattened prose

For some reason, some menu items and hotkeys do not work. For example, the TC menu Select all does not work, but Ctrl+A does. In XP, the search does not work at all, not from the same menu and hotkeys. In general, you need to carefully check the operation of all menus and hotkeys.

Selecting ALL - this command does not work as expected - the selection should include all the TEXT from the document,
and not all the elements on the screen.
Now this is, for example, an open search miniframe, an indication of the scale, the number of characters in the document.
All these UI-elems are selecting now. That's wrong.

Ctrl+С - does work, OK)) Ctrl+Ins - does NOT! That's wrong. The same and for Shift+Ins in an open search miniframe. NOT working.
Btw on this frame for a full-fledged search, it is necessary and enough to add the checkboxes "Whole word only search",
"Case sensitive search", "Find as you type" and + "Start searching" button.
This last checkmark "Find as you type" will resolve the issues with the severity of an instant search.
Not everyone has very fast computers, and when typing in the search - I see that the search has started, but there is a lot of text,
the search chokes on my computer and I have to wait for the plugin to work again. And so with the help of this checkbox, I'll remove it -
and the search only will start for me after I accept the typed text and click the "Start searching" button itself.

Toggle Split text view. This is a clearly toggleable state. Therefore, in the menu, it should be represented as a checkmark.
But right now, it doesn't work that way—no matter how many times you select this menu item, nothing appears next to the text
anywhere. But the checkmark icon should appear. A checkmark!

https://i.ibb.co/cXwWtjhM/2026-04-21-143026.png
Here, it is clearly evident that the alignment of the two text objects does not follow clear and expected rules.
I don't even have any way to align the text MYSELF with a couple of mouse clicks (like in Total Commander's own comparison tool).
YES, there are scroll bars here, but they also work in an unexpected way.
Also, for some reason, part of the useful text output area at the top right is occupied by a not particularly necessary frame with
a number of raw characters...

Ctrl+W Constrain column width
Ctrl+Shift+W Widen or remove column constraint
I don't understand how this feature works or what its limits are. In my opinion, it's similar to the zoom function.

Line Numbers - the same. Still I don't understand how this feature works and in which circumstances.

v3.3

fix: Total Commander menu and lister commands are now routed consistently through WLX callbacks for Copy, Select all, Print, and lister scroll-percent updates
fix: Windows XP search reliability is improved by avoiding modern selector assumptions in the embedded MSHTML engine
add: ==highlight== inline rendering
add: curated support for common emoji shortcodes such as ,, :+1:, :rocket:, and other frequently used aliases
add: block-level <details> / <summary> passthrough for collapsible sections
fix: older MSHTML engines now get a script fallback for <details> so summary rows remain clickable when native HTML5 support is missing
docs: README shortcut list and on-screen help are aligned with the implemented search keys (F3 / Shift+F3 / F7)
docs: README and changelog now document supported Markdown extensions and current limitations, including partial Mermaid scope, missing math rendering, and limited reference-style embedded image support

I can’t describe everything at once. So step by step :)
1. At the beginning of the text in XP it shows:

Doesn't show in Win11. But if you select everything and copy, it appears in the pasted document:

2.In Ctrl+Q mode, menu items and hotkeys do not work in XP and Win11:

3. In XP the menu and hotkeys do not work, in Win11 copying works:

Find Next fires once. At the same time, the plugin window is buggy in XP. Like the text moves. There is no glitch in Win11.
Everything is on the TC menu. I didn't check the rest of the menu items carefully. Other comments later.

I'm on Win11 and this is what I have

1. If I do Ctrl-A copy and then paste in Word, I get the full MD file correctly. The only glitch I can confirm is that the first two lines are information like, for example, below:

MD chars: 6351
Zoom 126%

I'll remove them

2. Ctrl-Q mode, it works perfectly, also the contextual menu
https://ibb.co/whwBsYT7

3. Copy as text indeed doesn't work. It copies only this kind of information and not the md content. I'll implement it this way: md copied without formatting at all, only pure text.

MD chars: 6351
Zoom 126%

Read carefully. So far I have only described the TC menu. This can be seen on the screenshots.

That's exactly what I'm talking about.

Please read carefully. I brought screenshots. I'm talking about the TC menu, not the MD menu. About the MD menu in the next testing.

Nice!
It would be very helpful to add Mermaid support for charts and graphics.
It is a standard for MD Viewers.

Partially is there but only for not for XP because of technical restrictions. The IE based XP version control does not support svg
