I have searched the forum and don't see this complaint (exactly anyway). My TC is locking up more and more, it seems as I go up in versions. I know this did bother another tech who had to upload large files at my last job (about a year ago). This could be a different issue, but now I probably lock up 50% of the time I retrieve a remote dir contents. It is not disconnecting I don't think, just have some troubles with directory contents. I did move servers recently, and do have full administration of my server so maybe I need to make some setting changes there. I am using vsftp on whitebox linux.
Any thoughts? I love the software, but the ftp has been the Achilles heel for me.
Thanks.
FTP locking up when retrieving remote directory

Try using passive mode. Some firewalls block ports which are know troyan ports even when used by normal programs like ftp. Since ftp uses random ports for data transfers, it will encounter a known troyan port sooner or later...
