BUG? - Escape key does not work on background copy.

Post by *Csimbi »

Well, title says it all.
When I copy something in the background, the escape key is ineffective.
Is this a bug or there is a reason for it?
Thanks.

Do you mean ESC for cancelling the background copy?

I think this is intentionally and I wouldn't want to cancel the background copy with ESC.

That's what I mean, yes.
Why is it that You would not want it to be cancelled?

I usually copy in background when I know it will take a certain time and I want to work on another case.

If I now switch through some windows and come to a halt at the background transfer manager it should not be possible to cancel the copy by pressing ESC by accident.

To stop this action I prefer the more specific user actions like [Alt]+[F4] or clicking on the "X" to avoid a cancelling by accident.

BTW if you want the ESC working as cancel even for the BTM you could write a AutoHotkey script. You may adopt the "AutoHotkey: Auto add URL to Background transfer manager" script for that purpose.

When You press the ESC, You will be asked that do You really want to cancel - so You can't accidentally cancel it.
