Then it must have something to do with my device, I don't have any other explanation. Especially because it works on my older PDA, too.
If someone with WM5 (or possibly an iPaq 1950) is reading this, please try what I've shown in the video:
- zip a folder and its content
- unzip the folder to another location, so that TC needs to create a new folder to unzip the data into
- tell us whether you have the same problem as I do *please please*

Could you please check in Show - About/Settings which version exactly you have installed? Maybe something went wrong and you have an older version (e.g. beta 2 instead of public beta 2). The error was present in older beta versions, but it's definitely fixed now (just tried it with your instructions above).

I'm terribly sorry, I was using the old 2.0. *shame on me*
I haven't fully switched to 2.5 (meaning: the HW button is still assigned to 2.0) because the popup menu is empty which makes using infrared more complicated than in 2.0.
The issue is indeed fixed in 2.5PB2.

Do you mean the menu which appears when you tap+hold the pen on a file? It shouldn't be empty!because the popup menu is empty

When I tap+hold on an empty era (that is, where nothing is displayed). I mentioned it in my very first posting already; the menu where I can usually find "Receive here by infrared" and, depending on the situation, "paste here from clipboard" ect.

This has been removed from the popup menu of PocketPC 2002 or newer, because these devices already have a built-in IR receive function. I can re-add it easily, I didn't expect that anyone with newer devices would be using it."Receive here by infrared"

I always used the TC feature over the built-in for two reasons:
- it activates the IR module only when needed, thus I save battery power
- I can receive wherever I like, not only in \My Documents
- also, it is more informative about the progress of receiving

I see - I will re-add the function to the dialog which appears when you tap&hold on the background - but not on a file, until it was in TC/CE2 - I need that space for "Send via Bluetooth".

You mean that the menu will become only "Open, ..., Copy, Cut, Bluetooth, Properties"?
Hm.... if it's because of available space - you could remove Open from the menu. I think it is clearly obvious to any user how to open a file without this menu.
On the other hand; earlier you said that the bluetooth function also supports infrared. Indeed, it recognised the other device, but sending didn't seem to start. So if that is improved one may even not need the send by infrared anymore.

Hi, a new thing:
when receiving files by IR, there comes a sound when a new file arrives. However, it is the sound of a message (alert) box. What do you think of changing that to the system sound for "new item received"?

Total Commander Pocket calls Messagebeep() here - I don't think that it can play that sound. I will check how this can be done.
