Dump file may not be created if there is not enough swap space on the disk. AFAIK, the system needs a swap file with size at least size of RAM + 1 Mb, located on the system partition.

It's probably unrelated. WGA is usually just "Windows Genuine Advantage".

There is plenty of disk space on the system partition, over 180 GB.
I see now that WGAErrLog is updated on every system (re)start.

I have also rechecked all the logs at event viewer: nothing!

It's not what I meant. If the swap file size is set to fixed it does not mater how much disk space you have. Don't know about "automatic size" however, neer tried it myself…

If this file is created by Windows Genuine Advantage then it's quite logical that it's updated on each restart, because WGA itself is started on each restart.

Better late than never. I finally fixed this, after all these years. ;)
I upgraded the graphic card driver and the search is now back in business.
It crashed only when getting many search results.
