Dropbox context menu missing in Win8/8.1, but ok in Explorer

If you run Dropbox tray utility w/o elevation, it can't operate with elevated TC because of security system. It works with Explorer because it is not elevated. Try to start Dropbox elevated and check elevated TC then.

Thanks for replying, guys, but I think you missed the fact that I was talking about Win 8, and not Win 7 (which I did say works fine). I also mentioned that starting elevated or not elevated doesn't make any difference, nor does altering UAC settings.

@Christian: Renaming the .exe to Explorer.exe doesn't work. The Dropbox dll may be hooking using the window class id. But even so, I doubt the window class of Explorer.exe changed from Win7 to Win8, so that can't quite be it ... the puzzling thing is that it works fine in Win7 but not in Win8 (I think that Norton doesn't work in either).

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
