I'm not sure if I got that. You mean that the "!" should only work when using the default Explorer icons? I really like the "!" feature, but I do not want to use the Explorer icons. In my case, it worked fine until beta 10. Starting with Beta 11 I don't see the "!" anymore, see screenshot.
So this is by purpose? Would be great if this would still work for my own folder icons again.
With Configuration > Options > Icons > Show default folder/file icons from Explorer UNTICKED
and OldDriveIcons=2 there is a visual difference between beta 10 and 11.
It seems the default has changed. TC dims the icons as well as showing the overlay exclamation mark, which is redundant and superfluous IMO. Please also note that the icons of symlinks and junctions look REALLY UGLY with the new overlay exclamation mark (when the file icons are not retrieved from Explorer)!

Please remove the exclamation mark from symlinked elements when the option "Show default folder/file icons from Explorer" is disabled. It's rather pointless to show them and they look like ... I don't know what to call them.

To be fair - the symlinks icons are only marked that way when they have the hidden and system attribute set - which Microsoft like to do with most of their symlinks and junctions.
But maybe it would be a good idea to except symlinks/hardlinks/junctions from the exclamationmark/dimmed feature - because it does look weird on links

With that iconlib I can confirm that you don't get any '!' on hidden/sytem folders - but that is because flat_FileIcons.dll only has 37 icons whereas a full TC9b11 compatible iconlib has 50 icons, where some of those icons are used for overlaying '!' - so that is why you cannot see the '!'.
You must either get another full TC9b11 compatible 50-icons iconlib or use Iconlib=%COMMANDER_EXE% until such a an iconlib is available.

23.08.16 Fixed: When using external icon library (via iconlib=) for files/folders, do not use '!' overlay (from TC) if the icon library does not contain any '!' overlay. Use method from TC 8.x instead: separate icon for hidden/system (32/64)
