In addition to my former suggestions: :)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
E. Batch routine! Files currently marked in active TC Panel would be accessed from Imagine internally
for batch routine jobs like format conversion, resaving with different settings and the like. Additionally
there could be an option to append an userdefinable filename extension to prevent overwriting, i.e.
<input.png> is written with new settings to <input_new.png>.

Language system bug

Post by *Clo »

2deus-ex

:) Hello !
• Though I don't know German a lot, I added your updated files, nice.
* That allowed me to find a bug in the language system of Imagine : in the menu, when you change the language, the most keyboard-shortcuts strings stay in the previous set language.
* That occurs even whether you close / restart TC several times.
* You can see that on this capture, where some strings remained in French, which was the previous set language.
* All strings with Shift (Umsch for you, Maj for me) remain in English, since the string "Shift" is missing in the English template.

* Maybe could you make the same test, but reverse (1. German  2. French) ? Or some German users (not any Stefan or Jeff around ?) …
- The French updated language files are available from this page >>> imagine-fr-new.zip

 Kind regards,
Claude

Too narrow, and FS-bug

Post by *Clo »

2deus-ex
A. An option in preferences to allow imagine to startup fullscreen immediately
(i.e. no need to press [Enter], XnView/ACDSee alike ;) ).
:) Hi !
• Talking of "Full screen", I noticed a bug : when you switch to Full screen, then coming back to the normal display by Enter, all buttons of the tool-bar no longer work. All is frozen.
• About translation problems, it's the same in French, many buttons / writing areas are too narrow. That needs to use many abbreviations, not nice…

Confirmed. When changing from German to English the shortcuts stay in German.

Hello Clo,

i grabbed your translation files and switched language just a couple of times from german to french to english.... (and so on ). ;)

Keyboard-Shortcut strings don't change, they stay in current system language!
For example, [Alt+Enter] is [Alt+Eingabe] in german tounge. I did'nt define the word 'Eingabe' anywhere in the translation files.
Probably Imagine derives the key names from the Operating System, using current OS Language settings.

Ah.... :)

Well, strange that "Ctrl" and "Shift" are not translated to OS default "STRG" and "UMSCHALT" then, seems like nyam hardcoded them for some reason, maybe because UMSCHALT is too long to fit in the small config box? ;)

Probably Imagine derives the key names from the Operating System, using current OS Language settings.
¤ Perhaps, but it's difficult to know… Maybe from a Windows-file which contains the names of the keys, following the Windows current language ???
- In Explorer, there are not many shortcuts; I compared, but i.e. Ctrl is identical in French. And there is no name for the <Shift> keys (normal & locked), only symbols on the French keyboards… In Explorer (Fr.) the "Home" key is so-called "Origine", while I (and many others) use to name it "Début" (Beginning); we have not that key in Imagine, that'ld allow to know from where the "national" strings come in the menu
- I thought too to the TC-language files, but no, since I've MAJ for Shift in these TC-French files…
EDIT : rummaging later in the list of "Customizable Shortcuts", I found a "Orig." (for short, I guess) - for the French key "Origine" (Home) quoted above. Hence you are right, these strings come from Windows, but I didn't find in which file (maybe a damned unreadable *.dat…)

¤ In anyway, it should be much better that nyam'ld restore the original menu-shortcut translation system - like in TC - since he changed it with regard to the customizable shortcuts feature.

* This is not a big problem: users having such customized shortcuts could edit easily their *.mnu files, and change the strings by hand, isn't «the sea to drink» !
:P Grain to mill still !

Imagine can be used standalone. When you start register.bat you can assign file extensions to Imagine!

You can drag&drop Imagine.exe to the button bar just like any other application. If you drag&drop a pic on it it will be opened with Imagine.

@nyam:
Problems with long path names when double clicking. Imagine crashes when path is too long!

My display is too small. Sometimes I need extra space to display the whole image and want to hide the nice toolbar. Here is my question: How can I enable/disable that nice toolbar via GUI
Here is a step by step explanation:
  1. View an image in lister or quickview.
  2. Right click on the lister window.
  3. Choose Options/Preferences in the menu.
  4. Navigate to tab "View".
  5. (Un)check the checkbox "Toolbar".
  6. Press "OK" to apply.

LOL Dear Lefteous, I said what I said, i.e. not "nice toolbar" but "crap", that "f***ing bar" is IMHO. And this is not about small display but the fact that such a thing as that "f***ing bar" is IMHO absolutely useless in such a brilliance viewer Imagine is. Or do you have any problems with it?

And I didn't ask how to hide that crap via GUI but just state one can't do it.

L> (Un)check the checkbox "Toolbar".

Dear Lefteous, if the things would be so easy, do you really think I would waste my time by posting here? 8/

So just go to the point "7." and open an image in Lister one more time - in my case "f***ing bar" appears regardless of the fact I have just disabled it, so "I had to edit Imagine.ini to get rid of that f***ing bar".[/face]
