I totally agree with that. I believe that almost all users who use TC do not belong to the category of users who "do not know how to install things or even are not aware that of the existence of other, mostly better, applications". Having that in mind, i believe it would be nice if all of us had an easier way to manage the plugins mess that exists now. I check for new plugins whenever i remember it - usually every 2-3 months. That means that i sometimes need more than 1 hour to check for new versions of plugins i already use, see if a new plugin exists which does the same job with one i have and download and try it. I just believe it would be great if an alternative (automatic) way existed that could help me speed-up things a little and manage them in an easier way. Of course the manual installation/deinstallation process would still exist.

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3 (very rarely nowadays).
x64: Clients/Servers - Win10/Win11 and Win2K16 to Win2K22, mainly Win10 though.

The site has an RSS feed so you don't need to attack it with dozens of page loads by versions plugin:
http://www.totalcmd.net/rss.xml

If you check for updates every 2-3 months only like wanderer, versions plugin makes more sense of course. ;)

The Version-Plugin also makes sense if someone doesnt memories every plugin/tool he uses
