The point is people are using now some third party tools to execute macros and group of commands for TC. And it will be nice if Ghisler add this function to TC. That way, there won't be a need for external programs to run group of actions. I don't know if this will be via macros or UCS but the author has to realize that this is actually a must.

Do you know if Ghisler has realized about this situation? or if he has some plans to implement macros or scripts in the near future?

There might be some simplifications in TC 7 that make use a few macros needless but macros are not planned AFAIK. This has been discussed many times but Ghisler didn't show any interest in this feature as he sees TC as an interactive only tool.

And what about environment variables pointing to the location of wincmd.ini and wcx_ftp.ini? Do you know if they are planned or not?
<EDIT>
I've just looked for this suggestion but found nothing. Hasn't anybody requested it earlier? Can't believe.
Just in case I've started a new thread for this suggestion.

What do you mean by simplifications? Something like adding two or more very used commands into just one?
For instance, he could add a new internal command cm_CopyAddToQueue that internally Copy the selected files and put them into the queue. This way, this command could be assigned a key.
As I recall and understand (but do not hold me on the second), the open source file manager Krusader will be (after the release of KDE4) ready for porting to MS Contact them.
Some of the features, you write about, are already implemented.
