I just changed the "File list font" and can reproduce it.
Is your desktop resolution 1280x1024?
You must change your desktop resolution to be the same as the resolution section which contains the font setting in wincmd.ini file.Or copy the font setting to your currently using resolution section.

Of course I put your options in the section which belongs to my resolution. I also switched all fonts manually to SimSun with Chinese GB encoding just to make sure that the right font is used - no problem. :(

It seems that I found the reason now: It happens only with Windows Classic theme! Can you confirm that too?

Yes,I confirm that with fresh TC.
With default WindowsXP theme, the font SimSun(gb2312) works fine.If switch to classic theme the issue jumps out immediately without restarting TC.

But the old TC still has this issue even in XP default theme!

Now upgrade to 7.5RC1.
Fresh installed and old configured TC both works OK, including the tooltip of buttons on compare dialog. But the font size of tooltip is a little small. The three font settings of the main program seems not affecting it.Is it hard-coded in program?Or is there any way to change the tooltip's font size?

I've tested in Japanese Windows with Chinese language, with both XP theme and classic theme.

Thank you Christian for your hard work.

Great, thanks for confirming the fix! Indeed you cannot currently change the font size of the tooltip.
