The "Yankee" effect happens to be what a large part of the English speaking world uses every day. Who's to say, besides you, that that isn't the proper syntax to use for English?

That would be mistake because, according to Help file, "Configuration -> Save Settings" does not mean "save other" but "save all" (including positions and size).
I agree with the rest of your comments though: polishing Help files and website would be really good move. The only thing which should not be affected is GUI itself due to text length limits. This part is always PITA for translators of any software.

As other have pointed out, I'm not a native English speaker. The translations of the program and help file were checked by a native English speaker (a professional paid translator), but this was several years ago, so many new strings have been added since then. Maybe I should ask another professional translator to check it now...

Just to add my 2 cents...
I'm a French native speaker, lecturer in a Univeristy but I live in the UK and sometimes, in exam papers, I have to correct the English of native speakers (then vs than, their vs there vs they're, it's vs its). So a native speaker is no guarantee for accuracy I'm afraid.
Therefore, to be strickly correct, maybe a British English version would have to be translated by the Queen Herself. Maybe she's a fan too.
Christian, have you tried contacting her?

Sorry, the names of our customers are confidential!
Joking apart, the Queen doesn't currently have a Total Commander license. I assume that she would be "not amused" to be contacted about such a trivial thing.

I imagine the WCMD_ENG.MNU is a turn off for almost any new user that is unfamiliar with the "Commander's" genealogy. As I recall, when I found out the menu was customizable, that was one of the first things I did.
Many aren't going to be interested in sinking that much time into a project like that - I know I've prolly spent literally days on my custom menu over the years.
The WCMD_ENG.MNU hasn't changed much in a long time, the odd command has been added to it here and there. Most of TC's functionality and power is hidden out of the box.
Even the standard toolbar/iconbar hasn't really changed much - aside from the step up to 24+Bit icons.
Anyways, not sure anyone would be interested, but heres
My_eng_7_.mnu. It's what I would consider a "Windows Menu Set" that showcases the internals of TC. It is likely missing a few commands now, it hasn't been updated on a DIFF of the 7.0/7.5 of TOTALCMD.INC, and may of missed a few between 6.5 and 7 - but it's mostly complete.

I would like to see your mnu file, but the link
http://cid-4001ce0c1580b8b9.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/My%7C_eng%7C_7%7C_.mnu does not seem to give access to the file. Do you have to be a member of Windows Live to download?

You don't need to be a member, there is a Download button on the page with url "javascript:$SelfPage.Download()".
I saw this menu file. But I don't like to overload main menu with rarely used settings and deep submenus.

It's a little confusing. I didn;t even know MS had done this til FenixP put up a file there

Its not the icon in the middle. its the blank page item to the furthest left.
I found out about MS giving everyone a 25GIG "skydrive" the same day Yahoo mailed me to let me know they are closing GeoCities.
@MVV thats why I have them in the menu's, so they are easily accessible when I need them. Otherwise the most frequent stuff is placed onto the icon-bar. And if I want to put something on an icon-bar I can generally find the cm_Command easier than searching thru the .INC file.
ICON BAR (Been creating and Collecting Free Icons for ~10years. Mostly 16bit, 24&32bit icons are much too difficult for an amateur)

petermad,
Let me know what you think of it after you see it. I'm curious now.
The Download button is right next to the Embed button. The word itself is the download link.

I could have sworn that I also tried that "Button" the first time, without luck - but now it worked

I will put my comments in the "Plugins and addons: devel.+support (English)" forum - it has become to much OT now.

Interesting discussion you've had here.
Here's a quote regarding '..allows to.." from today:
"Giveaway of the Day - PowerCmd 2.2
"PowerCmd is a modern and sleek Windows Command Prompt Replacement that allows you to run multiple consoles within a single tabbed window. "
From the eponymous site.
