Well, that's what I'm dong with the icons now, right?
Sure, I'm aware of that (who else if not me  ) and also feel honored and a bit proud that my work will be a part of TC. I didn't want to criticize your way to work. My post was meant more as an appreciation for your great job with a little proposal to save you time, maybe it looked more critical than I intended it to be... :(
I just don't want to give the coding of the core program out of my hands
You absolutely shouldn't! As I wrote in my post, I also share this opinion. You've created and further improved an impressive Software all by your own and you should continue that way. I see absolutely no need to involve other cooks in TC core developing! :)

And as you stated TC indeed is -and should stay- small and fast which is also very important to me. I don't want to force implementation of heavy features that can easily be done with plugins (like IE view).

So keep up your great work! :D

What that has to do with respect for your users ? Who mentioned anything about fast TCs and slow IEs ?

It was a reply to StickyNomad's post about limited resources.

Thanks for your support and for bringing the thread back to topic. I really hope Ghilser will consider that feature. If its too late for v7 already, then a later release would be fine for me...

It could possibly be too late for this because Ghisler stated that there's already quite a bunch of requests he's trying to implement in v7, and therefore I'm not sure if the MRTeditor will make into v7 or be postponed. But I really hope to see this in v7. Until now, Ghisler didn't make a statement on this feature, so we'll see what the Betas will bring.

Not yet, but sure there will be.

It all depends on how complex it will be. For example, it's probably not too easy to scroll two edit controls exactly to the same line (old name+new name) and keep them in perfect sync when the user edits something. A simple file import would be much easier.

Agreed! I would use the external editor anyway, dont know how other users are planning. Also in OscarRename, my first move is to copy-paste the contents to TextPad ;-)
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

This Edit-button would already be a great enhancement, so I vote strongly for SanskritFritz' suggestion if the built-in editor is too complex to implement.

ME TOO

I will be more than satisfied with just a button to import a text file

That was my suggestion in the first place...

and, I bet, many other users will like this feature.

Thanx in advance :)
