Hi Alex,

I found some odd behaviour. After I installed the latest version I set to open the readme. This opens the readme HTML file in UV. In turn this opens the page in a plugin view. Pressing CTRL-F gives me the UV search window and immediately after it, it opens the IE (at least I think it is IE) find window. This only seems to happen with HTML files. Same happened with another HTML file I tried. Pressing ESC on the IE find window gives me the UV window.

Hope you can check it.

Regards,

Should be because default value of WebAcceptAllFiles changed to 1 (mentioned in Readme). What if you set it to 0?

Edit
I cannot reproduce it (even with WebAcceptAllFiles=1). Very strange. I always get IE search dialog in Internet mode. Do you have some plugins installed for HTML?

Ok, you got it right it is a plugin. It happens with IEview. Do I actually need this plugin with UV?

The only reason it is in there is because I loaded all plugins from TC.

Roland,
no - you don't need IEView at all! More I can say: it's not recommended under UV since it's not too stable:

I'll add new IEView issue to this list.

I’ll start with series of software reviews. Mostly open source or freeware. Today I am presenting this, let’s say very universal tool, which is called Universal Viewer (AT Viewer). This lightweight software (750 kb) can be very useful tool for non-techie-persons, who have a hard time to remember file associations. Why? This versatile piece of software can virtually open almost all file formats which are in average usage at home and at work.

This file viewer can open PDFs, Fonts, flash (flv and swf) formats, Microsoft Office formats (doc, xls, ppt), images (bmp, jpg, tiff, gif, tga, png, etc…), music (mp3, midi, wma) and video (avi, mpg, wmv). Universal viewer can be also used as a web browser or HTML code editor. Unfortunately, the format which can’t be viewed with Universal Viewer is Microsoft Project.

Version 1.6 beta.
Link: "Version without installer" in 1st post.

This is unofficial version, the official one will be 2.0 with more features. A lot of changes:

Changed: Various histories are now saved in the separate ini file: ViewerHistory.ini (located in the same folder as Viewer.ini). These are: window size and position, recent files list, search history. You can open this file using command "Options -- Advanced -- Manually edit history file".
Added: Option "Advanced -- Media -- Auto-start media playback"
Added: Option "Advanced -- Media -- Play count"
Added: Command "Help -- Web links -- Download plugins"
Added: Command "View -- Multimedia -- Play/Pause"
Added: Commands "View -- Multimedia -- Volume -- Up / Down / Mute". Volume value and mute state are saved and restored on program restart.
Added: Warning when Explorer integration option cannot be applied under Vista
Added: Text mode: Auto-scroll when mouse is lefter/righter than text area
Added: Text mode: Shift + Mouse Wheel scrolls horizontally, like TC Lister
Added: Text mode: Ctrl + Mouse Wheel changes font size
Added: Image mode: Ctrl + Mouse Wheel changes image scale
Added: Command "Help -- Regular expressions"

When I closed the viewer this dialog popped in:

Code: Select all

---------------------------
Viewer.ini - Universal Viewer
---------------------------
Control 'Viewer' has no parent window.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Maybe it's of interest to you.

As for what I did before that: I opened a .ini file and switched randomly through the various view options (text, media, plugins, rtf).

Other than that: keep up the good work
TC for Linux please!

Dead option

:) Hello Alexeï !

• I've updated the French LNG, I found two hitches…
1. In the Options, the box Show navigation panel remains greyed out.
Even when displaying HTML pages.
- The key F4 does nothing…
- Note : New hotkeys aren't set¦checked yet, we'll send you the French.lng a.s.a.p.

2. In the file ViewerHistory.ini, the file-names are written as UTF8 (it seems), example :

Code: Select all

[RecentFiles]
0=C:\BB-Messages\Opera_français_externe.txt
- Really, it's :
…\Opera_français_externe.txt

:) Hello !

• If I trust my old eyes, it's just above as a quotation in the Alexeï's message…

• Or do you mean for the future 2.0 version ? I don't guess it should be published yet…
