Hm, I'm not sure what you mean exactly. If you have opened the texteditor in the MRT with the filenames, you can simply delete the whole file contents and type the new names from scratch if you like to.
But perhaps you had sth like this in mind, though it has nothing to do with the MRT: Actually, you can press SHIFT+F4 in TC to create a new empty file.
As I said, I'm not sure if I got you right, perhaps you could be a bit more precise...

To describe it more thoroughly
I'd like to press Shift F4, where pressing a button "create files from list" would load a text file with contents like:
01 - filename.txt
01 - filename.html
03 - blahblah.css
subfolder\02 - thisisit.txt
subfolder\03 - blahblah.css
subdir\02 - thisisit.txt
...
and would, upon hitting OK, automatically create all those blank files in selected folders and subfolders.
Of course there is no "create files from list" button. Yet

Correction to TC (any version)
I don't know whether this is the proper avenue for getting in my 2 cents worth, but I'll try anyway - maybe the moderator of the forum could redirect the post as necessary.
I'm concerned about the proper implementation of the 'First letter uppercase' feature in the MRT Upper/lower case box.
As things stand now, the feature does not work if the first character is not a letter. I think the way it was meant to work (and it surely would help me a great deal in my daily usage of TC), is if the replacement algorithm actually found the first LETTER (not CHARACTER) and changed that accordingly.
I have no idea how difficult it would be to implement in the proposed v7.0 of TC, but it would be welcomed at any time.
Thanks for lending an ear.
Oh, and y'all ( I had to throw that in -Texan, y'know) keep up the good work on the (my opinion) best little utility ever written!

This is not needed to change. There are two other ways to achieve what you need: using the L and U modifiers in the rename mask, and regexp search.I think the way it was meant to work (and it surely would help me a great deal in my daily usage of TC), is if the replacement algorithm actually found the first LETTER (not CHARACTER) and changed that accordingly.
P.S.: this was a completely offtopic request.
F6, Enter, Tab, F6, Enter, Tab, F6, Enter, Tab... - I like to move IT, move IT!..

Excuse my ignorance, but could you please explain about the modifiers you mentioned (or where to find more detailed info on the subject)? TIA, GoodnoisePostPosted: Wed Aug 09, 2006 2:30 am Post subject: Reply with quote

Interesting how Ghislers forum influences the young soul.
What we have here is pure psihologycal example of good, honored, smart young man X, being converted to superegoistic "un-selfish" sadist after just several months of Ghisler.ch Therapy. In the beginning Kibibytes greatest worrior now wonders through this community attacking innocent people from the bushes making funny high pitched sounds trying to desorient the target and kill it before it even know what is the name of the land he steps.
What do you think Squire ? Is all hope lost for this poor kiddo ? What should we - elders - do, to protect the youth ?

LOL, you're not the only one who's noticed how much X has changed, majki ! In the beginning he was ever so solicitous about the comfort of newbies but now he struts importantly around the forum and tends to kick them (and others) in the head for trivial reasons.
I think it's just youthful bravado and he'll become a kinder, gentler person in time - just like you and icfu.
We just need to point it out when he gets a little above himself.
X is a smart kid with a particularly nitty-gritty mind, which is essential for programming in Assembler. I will recommend him to Microsoft's Driver Development Division next time I have lunch with Bill Gates.
