mmm I don't use APNGs but for fun I tried it out, results vary from working to crashing TC with a variety of errors (access violation, just crash, freeze) - strange thing it that the animation is either working or interpreted differently each time I view the same APNG - overall the results remind of the poor quality GIF animations which were fixed until recently.

There's online evidence that the Plugin_Archive, and Plugin_RAR have overlapping functions that make them incompatible.
For instance, the Plugin_RAR has newly implemented rar5 support that however won't work unless a user completely removes Plugin_Archive.
Specifically, 64 bit version has been reported.

I cannot help you for now.

Versions 2.0 and 2.1 of the WebP plugin are broken.

I've just started using Imagine as WLX64 plugin with Total Commander 10.0 x64.
WebP images are displayed fine when using v0.1.1 of WebP plugin (Imagine_Plugin_WebP_0.1.1_x64.zip),
but it doesn't work at all using Imagine_Plugin_WebP_0.2.0_x64.zip or Imagine_Plugin_WebP_0.2.1_x64.zip

Cannot confirm this. As I can see, current versions of Imagine and its related plugin (1.3.8 and 0.2.1 respectively, of either bitness) are completely fine with the rendering of the WebP images (at least within the sample pool that I have).
I'm using Total Commander 11.02, though.
Windows 10.

Like beb I also have no problems with the 0.2.1 version of WebP.plg64 with the few .webp files I have - could you provide a sample .webp file that does not work for you?

It has the magic bytes "RIFFV WEBPVP8X", so I think that's valid WEBP format.
It has a transparent background, but it doesn't matter, other images without transparent background are not displayed by v2.x as well.

I just tested this to find out why it wasn't working. The WebP plugin versions 0.2.0 and higher only work in Imagine version 1.3.4 or higher. The reason is that Imagine 1.3.3 and older don't list the WebP plugin versions 0.2.0 or higher in Help > Installed plugins. And no, this has nothing to do with the number of installed Imagine plugins discussed earlier in this thread.

Older versions of the WebP plugin work fine in older and newer Imagine version. The WhatsNew.txt doesn't give a clue what exactly changed in Imagine 1.3.4 that could cause this. Updating other Imagine plugins cause them to not show up in Help > Installed plugins as well. So something changed in version 1.3.4 and its plugin interface.

version 1.3.4? I didn't installed Imagive itself, just WLX(64) plugin and sub-plugins.
