[REQ] Breadcrumb navigation in "current directory"

Post by *majkinetor ! »

I want to suggest something that will come with Windows Vista by default in Explorer. Take a look at

In TC, this could be implemented via CD panel.
So if it states for instance:
  • C:\Download\_Upload\--- sw\
on mouse over link should appear when mouse is over adquate path part. For instance, when mouse is over Download:
  • C:\Download\_Upload\--- sw\
click on it should switch to that folder.

Thx.

What should be different from the current behaviour with InplaceRenamePath=2?

Hej, Flint, you must be aware that I am not informed about all new features of TC.

This one for instance.

Thx, icfu.

It's not a new feature already, it has been introduced 2 years ago in 6.50. ;)
20.10.04 Added: InplaceRenamePath=2: Disable inplace rename of path, but enable quick directory changes with single click (no shift needed)

Yes, but the new Vista approach to breadcrumbs is even better:

Each folder in the path has dropdown listing the peer folders at that level.

You can try out this approach in the Library screen of Windows Media Player 11. It works great!

I think it is in Vista Explorer, too.

I just had a quick look at UltraExplorer's bread crumb bar, and I have to say Wow!

This is an awesomely convenient way to navigate through the folder tree extremely fast using a very compact control! I tried it for about half a minute and am already kind of addicted to it!

I raise both hands to support this feature in TC as an option!

BTW, 2Ghisler InplaceRenamePath is not documented in the ini file section of the help file.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Support ~+

We already have the <- -> navigation, a bread crumb bar is a nice representation of it. But i would like to have it with autohide or as external bar to not reduce my vital TC screen !
