Thanks for the answers. Improved WDXInfoPacker is under testing ..

My knowledge about permissions and groups and security is not the best one - so my next question.

Situation:
On our NTFS-share we have no "personal permissions" for the users, but we use groups: We have group "writer" and group "reader", and users are member of these groups.

Today I tested "Permissions" on the PC of a user who is in the "reader" group - and in all folders and files where this group has no writing-permissions the plugin shows: "Write permission: yes"

Why? Is it the difference between Group and user? Is it my problem ...??

Hi Lefteous.

When i saw this thread, i thought it might be interesting to try it out. Except from the use in the multirename tool though, i don't understand how i can use it to view and alter permissions. Its my first experience with WDX plugins so can you give me some hints please?

Thanx.

how i can use it to view and alter permissions
Permissions just supports displaying permissions for the current user. Altering permissions is not supported.
Please take a look at our wiki or the TC help file how to use content plug-ins.

I got it, thanx. It's a nice plugin. Might be useful in several cases (admin mainly).

It is for file system permissions. Try to run it in for example "c:\Program Files" and you will see...
