[Req] Compare by content : Show more info

Hi there,

"Compare by content" is a nice function! The new version has edit mode, that's great! But can you consider to add more functions hereafter to make it more convenient?

- highlight diff lines with different colors, or enable user to change diff color. I hardly see the red color, and so do many other people, I know.
- show diff number x/total diff, for example, diff 1/10 or diff 2/10 so that users can see where they're.

That's all I can suggest now. Thanks for all :D

:) Hello !

• In <wincmd.ini> :
[Colors]
CompareText
Compare, text mode: color of the differences
-----------------------------------------------------
CompareTextSel
same, but selected text
- This is also available (simpler) from the Options >> Colours >> Combobox (scroll…) >> Compare by contents;)

Thanks, but I don't see the word "CompareText" in wincmd.ini, and the combobox for [Compare by contents] is available but the textbox next to it is disable.

Please tell me how to do, or give me an example of configurating ini file.

Thanks!

:) Again…

• The field beside the combobox is enabled as soon as you have selected an entry in it, like on this image.
- With the [>>] button, you get the palette to choose a custom colour…
- As long as you don't change the default, these entries are missing in the <wincmd.ini>
- That isn't very handy, but we have to live with for a while still…

Thanks Clo, I had never changes this colors in lister,... :P

I have changed the colors of Selected text and Selected background of the lister.

But I have not found the way to change the colors of the Background for the Differences to use the same colors like in the lister. Is there a way to change it ? :?:

Best Regards

:) Hello, bonsoir,

• AFAIK, the BG colour can't be chosen there…

- This could be useful, according to the used default Win BG.
- Maybe the Author could plan an INI entry, either to set a colour at will (that I would prefer),
or to use the Lister one (that is better than nothing).
- So, the ball is in the Author's court… ;)
