When TC is behind another window,an Explorer for example. If pressing on TC,before releasing mouse button,TC is brought to top window!

This makes it difficult to do "Drag and Drop" action when TC is maximized and other window is on top of it.

onmouseclick

:) Hello ! Welcome aboard !

• AFAIK and experienced for a long while, that is a normal behaviour in Windows, all programmes behave the same…
- Windows gives the focus “on_click” and not when releasing the button of the mouse…

 Kind regards,

Select the file(s) > drag > hover TC icon in the taskbar (alternatively Alt+Tab and Enter if minimized to tray) > TC becomes active > drop.

Everything is fine here. How should it be?

Yes,I know this solusion.
But I wish TC could behave like Explorer, brought to front when releasing mouse button but not when pressing.

Seems it depends on Windows kernal.
Maybe I have to suffer this trouble Drag and Drop action for a long time.

There is no common rule. It is depend on specific program.
Try drag and drop files from explorer when explorer window partially overlapped by another window.

Now that we are in the process of a new version, any news on this problem?

Currently this isn't planned, it just feels odd - no other programs except for the Explorer seem to work like that.

OK.

Well, I personally find the Explorer way quite convenient. There are other file managers like Q-Dir also have the similar behavior (probably because they are just some kind of 'container' of the Explorer?)

Anyway thanks for the reply.

Although I understand this is very much an "ancient" post & suggestion, I do want to bump it up a little bit. Over the past few years we did see quite a few file managers started to implement this idea, which turned out to be fairly well received. Apart from Q-Dir that su_zhy mentioned, Multi Commander is also a good example. Therefore, I personally feel this suggestion might be worthy of some reconsideration.

Why is it so hard to press Alt+Tab after starting dragging from TC to bring previously active window to front?

No, it's not hard at all. But this post and all the other posts in this sub-forum are not talking about hard vs. easy, but about something called "convenience".
